My fingers tapped the steering wheel as again, I edged my car slightly to the left so that I could peer up the road, quietly gauging if I would have enough room to bypass the camper going ten below the speed limit six cars in front of me.
I frown, edging back into the center of the lane.
I hated single lane roads.
There wasn't enough space to pass before oncoming cars would appear. No the line was too long. For now...a chewed the bottom of my lip. For now I would have to bide my time until either the camper turned off...or we finally reached a two lane road. 

The sizzling of grease in the frying pan was a constant background noise as I grabbed another vegetable...some sort of onion maybe? That I'd been handed and told to 'chop as fine as I can'
Chewing the inside of my lip, I continued slicing through the 'onion' trying to find the right rhythm as well as the right size that my Aunt preferred. 
It was peaceful.
Learning to make old family recipes wasn't something that I got to do often so to have the chance now...was nice.
It was all nice. 

Woke up with the headache that I went to bed with. Which was rather frustrating. But a bit of Excedrin and a heat pack on my tense shoulders help the headache to fade away. 

Ended up with a slight headache today that got a bit worse as the evening progressed.
Pretty sure it started just from the stress of traveling.
As traveling for longer periods of time usually tenses me up a bit. 
So it's not surprising I ended up with one.
Fought to keep it at bay.
But it persisted for most of the evening, getting worse and better and worse again. 

I pulled my knees up to my chest, shivering a little in the cool night breeze as the first of the fireworks exploded in the sky.
All around my couples snuggled closer together, pulling blankets around them and resting their heads on each others shoulders. 
It was cute. For them. 
Maybe one of these years I would have someone to cuddle with too.
Maybe.

*gets home*

Me: How about I do all these cleaning things instead!!

Brain: …… but.....writing?

Note to self.
Switch out to new contacts tomorrow.
As I'm wondering if the headaches behind the right eye are caused by the particular lens I'm wearing currently.
Like, why else would I have a headache appear only after I put in my contacts for the day?
It's suspicious.
And annoying to have to deal with a headache first thing.
Because if it's not the contacts....then I'm sleeping tense...or something.
