It was a major migraine when I woke up this morning.
The one that was starting to take hold last night when I went to bed.
Well...at least it didn't keep me up all night.
But I woke up with it pounding away inside my skull and...*exhales*
It was bad enough that I considered calling work and asking if I could come in like an hour later so I could take a shower and doze for a bit longer to try and get rid of it.

However, I was stubborn and figured I would be by myself my entire shift (I was right) and really I could use all the time I could get....So I downed a couple of advil and drove into work with a heatpack pressed against my shoulders.

Work itself...was difficult for the first couple of hours.
Really the first half hour or so I spent curled up on the floor behind the fish wall.
As I couldn't really stand up for longer than a minute or two without feeling like I was going to throw up.
So I had to move more slowly than I wanted...to the point where I was seriously figuring it would have been better for me to come in late. *exhales*
Still...as time passed and my muscles warmed up and the meds took effect...
The headache faded.

It's remain present throughout the day. But has stayed in the 1-2 pain range scale of minor nuisance instead of the 7 or 8 it was at earlier to day.
I was careful to eat more food and to take a nap today as well.
So hopefully that will help prevent it from coming back tomorrow.

I have a slight headache developing behind my left eye currently.
I'm guessing it may be from leftover tension of dealing with the tension in the store of having our DM visiting this morning.
But since it didn't start building until like dinner time...I'm wondering if there's another factor playing here.
As I did try to take a nap to rest, but kept getting interrupted by texts and phone calls from people. So maybe I just didn't get enough sleep today?
Was I stressing over writing too much?
Did I not eat the right amount of food today at the right time?

Hard to know for sure.
Hopefully sleep will help it go away.
But I guess I'll have to wait and see.

The headache hit hard and fast early this morning at work.
Tense shoulders which caused a fierce ache behind my eye.
Not quite sure what it was all about as I wasn't under anything particularly stressful, but apparently I was stressing because the Tylenol,  Advil, and then Excedrin weren't doing much to help it out. (Meds were taken hours apart)

Overall though, I think I was stressing about getting what I wanted to get done done.
Because once I actually got to the task that I'd been meaning to do practically my entire shift.
The headache vanished pretty soon after.

It hit without warning. One second she was breathing just fine the next....she couldn't get enough air.
Eyes tearing up and her lungs trying to heave themselves out of her mouth, she quickly and hoarsely excused herself to the next room, desperate to find a water fountain to get a drink, to do whatever she could to get whatever irritation that was in her throat gone so she could see and breathe properly.

It was odd, to disturb the dust.
I had thought that these books were well loved.
Yet as I picked up and returned each novel to the shelf, the shiny clean imprint of where my fingers had disturbed the layer of dust was left visible to anyone who dared to venture into this forgotten corner of the world.

Saturday, February 23, 2019

It was one of those days where a headache kept trying to take up residence behind my right eye.

Starting midway through work, I could feel the tension growing in my shoulders, moving up to my neck and over to the eye.

And then I remembered that I probably needed to take more meds.
As I'd been taking Tylenol to help a bit with general achiness I've been feeling from being sick all week. As taking the meds helps my throat and nose feel less...sore.

So that's what I did.
And the headache went away.
So take that headache! Ha!

Me: *is sick*
Brain: You know what we could do?
Me: *sniffles*
Brain: We could write about being sick! Make the character sick! We have personal experience!!
Me: ...Do you have the energy to actually write anything?
Brain:....maybe?
Me: That's what I thought.

Person: *requests story*
Me: *has lots of ideas*
Person: *gives more specific details*
Me: *has less ideas*
Person: *gives even more specific details*
Me: ….are you sure you don't want to write this out yourself?? Cus this is getting oddly specific in the concept you're wanting....

It's a faint ache behind my eyes today....caused after I tried to take a nap, so it may be I slept tense or slept in the wrong position or you know...just slept the wrong amount of time. It's hard to know for sure.
I'm hoping a hot shower and some food will help it go away. We'll see.

Tuesday, February 19, 2019

There's an ache behind my eyes but I can't tell if it's actually a headache or if I'm just exhausted because my whole head is congested from some sort of head cold....so like I can't tell what's potentially a headache and what is just fuzzy brained fuzziness.

Monday, February 18, 2019

Today's headache was caused pretty much by the stress of work today.
Due to the holiday customers came in much earlier and in larger quantities than expected.
Which meant I couldn't open up my department as quickly and actually had to forego doing the deeper cage cleaning scheduled today because it was nearly noon by the time I could break away to start it and the process takes at least 2 hours if not longer....so I knew I couldn't get it done before I got off work....

So I ended up having to forego the deep clean today and will need to find time sometime this week to do it.
But yah. So many customers. So much stress. I ended up with the headache before lunch and while some Excedrin and heatpacks helped it on my break...I remained tense and didn't get enough rest on break because I was trying to plan things with friends for after work....

So yah was basically miserable the reset of the afternoon, though thankfully the headache mostly faded away before the sunset. So the evening has been headache free....
Though not illness free as a sore throat has struck me with quite the vengeance. XP Ugh. Go away illness. Go. Shoo

Sunday, February 17, 2019

The headache from yesterday stayed with a vengeance last night, keeping me up for most of it with intense tremors (I was freezing despite keeping my room warmer with a heater) and taking a shower and doing heat packs and just trying to relax my muscles as I was tense enough I couldn't take meds as my stomach wasn't feeling that settled at all.

Though drinking a little bit of pepsi helped to sooth my stomach enough that I could fall asleep...
I ended up forgoing going to church to get more actual rest.

It faded to like a two on the pain scale as the day progressed....
But increased back to like a six or a seven after the stressful drive home in the stormy darkness that I did.

I'm honestly thinking that this is like a cluster headache sort of headache considering I've managed to get one nearly every day this past week....

Saturday, February 16, 2019

It was a stressful day at work today dealing with a lot of customers, trying to open up the department and dealing with a major kitty mix up that just...well tensed me up.
It didn't help that as soon as I got home I ended up turning around and going out again to visit with friends and such which meant I didn't get a chance to properly rest or unwind... as I went into another slightly stressful situation and yah....

Ended up giving myself a headache despite my best efforts to keep the thing at bay by taking a nap when I got home, eating food and taking some meds.

Nope. Headache appeared behind my eyes like normal. *exhales*

Friday, February 15, 2019

And in the new Friday tradition...I once again ended up with a headache on my day off.
>.< Is it just...getting more sleep that's causing this issue? Sleeping in later? Stressing myself out trying to write one of the million fic ideas I have?

No idea.
But it's frustrating.
Trying to get the headache to go away from pounding in my head to get my shoulders to loosen up and relax and yah.....it was just refusing the entire day.

Thankfully it did eventually fade...I think because I managed to focus on something else for long enough to forget I had the headache.

Thursday, February 14, 2019

There's something about waking up that I apparently don't like.
That or it's along the drive to work that my muscles decide to tense.
Or it's in the middle of working that the tension goes up to reside behind my head.
*exhales*
Mornings.
Maybe I need more sleep?
Less sleep?
To wake up quicker?

No idea.
But Excedrin and a heatpack with a brief nap seems to have helped this current rendition of the headache be defeated.

Wednesday, February 13, 2019

Ended up with a headache this morning.
Which may have been the same headache I Had last night...who knows.
It was in the same place, behind the right eye and probably from the tense muscles in my neck.
I took an advil to try and relieve it.
Didn't work.
Took an Excedrin and on my breaks rested with a heat pack on my neck.
And sometime in the middle of working and doing things....the headache vanished.
So yay for it not sticking around for too long today.

Tuesday, February 12, 2019

There was a lot of stress today at work, tension emanating off of practically all my coworkers.
Because the auditor came into town and into the building.
Which meant I was working to try and make everything look good.
To the point where I skipped one of my breaks to make sure everything was going good.

Probably shouldn't have skipped the break.
Because I have a headache behind the right eye from tension in the neck/shoulders.

So hopefully some rest and some more liquids will help keep it at bay.

Monday, February 11, 2019

The clock ticked by, second by second, minute by minute.
I couldn't stop looking at the time, my eyes constantly drifting between the clock and the doorway, the muscles in my neck getting tenser and tenser as the what ifs drifted through my mind.

This was why I didn't like visitors.
Especially ones who didn't specify a specific time they were coming by.

How long would they stay? What would we talk about? Would it be a good visit or one I would come to regret?

Ding.

I jumped.
Heart pounding.
My visitor was here.

The moment of truth.

Me: *brainstorming while at work*
Brain: Yes! We shall go write all the sequels and the newquels and the sidequels and all the things!!
Me: *getting home from work*
Brain: Sleeeeeeppppp noooo think just sleeeepppp
Me: *face palm* You do this every time!

Monday, February 4, 2019

Have had the faintest of aches behind my right eye today, started towards the end of work and is just kinda hovering around....
I think maybe I need to go eat more things....
Probably what I need to do....

Sunday, February 3, 2019

The slight headache I had last night became major early this morning. Major enough that I barely stirred from bed until afternoon because a constant ache was pulsing behind my left eye because the muscles from neck to below the shoulder blade were all tense.
*exhales*
It's still present. Done basically everything I can to get rid of it. And it just comes and goes. Comes and goes. Comes and goes.

Saturday, February 2, 2019

It may have been a delayed reaction to the stress of having a busy day at work.
An unexpectedly crazy busy day at work because I'd forgotten it was a holiday and the day before the superbowl.

So I was kept pretty busy running to and fro and helping customers and keeping track of coworkers and such.

It makes sense that after I've been home for a bit and focusing on writing and such.
That I would end up tensed enough in the shoulders -specifically the left side to gain an unwelcome headache behind my left eye. *exhales*

It's only settling in now.
But hopefully I can keep it down and at bay.

Friday, February 1, 2019

Ended up with a slight headache pretty soon after waking up this morning.

Not sure why....maybe I slept too long? As I didn't stay up that late last night...so maybe sleeping tense?
Or because I slept in later than normal maybe I didn't eat soon enough, was my body complaining against not getting an earlier breakfast?

*shrugs* Who knows.

But after eating, an Excedrin, a heat pack and a brief nap...the headache faded. Woot!
