"Three.
Two.
One."
Her gasp had a smile crossing my face as I braced myself briefly against the wall, fighting against the drain in energy that accompanied me anytime I performed actual magic. What could I say, I was a sucker for damsels in distress.
"But how?" She gasped out, and I could only imagine her fingering the gem she'd been trying so hard to get her hands on. Too bad for her, I'd been a step ahead the entire time. That was part of the job really. Be a step ahead or else you get caught.
I chuckled, pushing away from the wall, continuing in my other preparations. "A magician never tells their secrets, M'lady"
"You must have an accomplice on this flight." She deduced.
I hummed in response. Not giving anything away. If I had any money to afford an international flight that would have been a grand idea. But I wasn't made of money despite what everyone thought of my thieving ways.
