We screeched into the station without a moment to spare. Jumping out of the car I tugged my bag from the back seat. "Thanks!" I called, waving a quick goodbye to my friends as I darted across the parking lot to the train that had just pulled into the station.
I knew the doors wouldn't stay open for long and---HA!
I slid triumphantly into the train compartment just as the doors slid shut and the train began to move.
Made it.
Taking a seat by the window I looked out, smiling softly at my friends as they waved energetically to the train. I gave my own small wave back, sure they couldn't see me, but making the effort anyways. "Til next time guys." I whispered, watching their figures disappear behind me.
