"Did you decide not to run today?" Jake asked sitting down across from me at the lunch table.
I looked up from contemplating if my chicken sandwich actually had any chicken in it. Interesting. The wall flower was talking to me? Why? Even more interesting. He knew what I did at lunch time. "It's raining. I got enough of that in Alaska."
Jake pushed his fries around his tray. "Your sunglasses probably fog up too, I suppose. It would get annoying to have to keep wiping them off."
Oh. This guy was observant.
"It does." I said with a shrug.
"So do you run with them off when it's raining?" He asked.
I chuckled. "Prying are you?"
"You pried into my life. I thought it was fair turnabout."
"I commented that you were a good climber."
"And I'm commenting that it must be annoying to wear those sunglasses."
I shrugged. "Most medical problems tend to be annoying."
"The light shouldn't effect you if it's raining."
"You'd be surprised."
"Still it shouldn't."
"You shouldn't be able to climb either. I suppose."
He stared at me for a long moment. "Appearance isn't always what you think it is." He finally replied.
I snorted, rolling my eyes behind my sunglasses. "Tell me about it. But why are you pretending" I lowered my voice. "That your arm is useless?"
He leaned in, lowering his voice as well. "Probably the same reason why you're hiding your eyes People here don't like what can't be explained."
Catcha on the Flip Side!
